Terms of Service

The Site republishes public building-plan-review records from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security, along with map coordinates generated from each project's address, in a searchable form. It is provided for informational and research purposes.

Permit data is sourced from a public government agency and republished as-is. We make no guarantee that it is complete, current, or free of errors -- records can lag behind the source agency, and fields can be missing or mis-entered upstream of us. Don't rely on the Site as the sole basis for a legal, financial, or business decision; verify anything important directly with the Indiana Department of Homeland Security or the relevant local authority.

You agree not to:

• Scrape, crawl, or systematically download data from the Site using automated tools, bots, or scripts, or otherwise attempt to bulk-extract the underlying dataset. Reasonable, manual, human browsing and searching is fine -- automated bulk collection is not.
• Attempt to bypass, probe, or circumvent any rate limiting, access controls, or anti-automation measures on the Site.
• Use the Site in any way that disrupts its normal operation or imposes an unreasonable load on its infrastructure.
• Use the contact form to send spam, malicious content, or anything unlawful.

We may rate-limit, block, or restrict access for any visitor or automated system, at our discretion, without notice.

Custom Alerts is an optional paid feature: you save a search (owner, architect, registration number, county, and similar fields) and we email you a daily digest when new projects match it. Payment is handled entirely by Stripe, our payment processor -- we never see or store your card number.

• Price: $5/month per active alert, billed monthly on one subscription per account. Three active alerts means $15/month. Adding, pausing, or removing an alert adjusts that quantity right away, and Stripe prorates the change automatically for the rest of the current billing period.
• Pause vs. remove: Pausing an alert stops billing for it immediately but keeps its saved search so you can resume it later. Removing an alert also stops billing for it, but permanently deletes the saved search -- there's no way to recover a removed alert's criteria.
• Canceling entirely: If pausing or removing your last active alert brings your account to zero, the underlying subscription is canceled outright rather than left running at $0. You can also manage or cancel your subscription anytime via the "Manage billing" link on the Custom Alerts page, which opens Stripe's own billing portal.
• No prorated refunds: Cancellations, pauses, and removals take effect immediately, but we don't refund the unused portion of a billing period you're already partway through.
• Delivery isn't guaranteed real-time: Digests are sent once daily and cover projects newer than the last digest we sent you. A delayed digest, a missed run, or a source-data change that affects matching doesn't entitle you to a refund.

Using any free part of the Site does not create any subscription or payment obligation. We may change Custom Alerts pricing going forward; the price shown at checkout, or communicated to you before your next renewal, is the price that applies.

The underlying permit records are public data and are not owned by us. The Site's design, code, and the particular way the data is organized and presented are provided for your use of the Site and are not licensed for republication or resale as your own product or dataset.

The Site is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Site or its data, including damages resulting from inaccurate, incomplete, or delayed information.

We may update these terms as the Site changes. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update. Continuing to use the Site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
